About Shoaib FarooquiMy name is Shoaib Farooqui, and I wish to pursue a career in orthopaedic medicine. This is because I have always found an interest in the correlation between physical activity and sport-related injuries. This is also evident with my own personal experience with an injury I sustained when I was a student athlete for the Wrestling team. As a 17-year-old senior at Liberty High School, it's a common sight to see me locked away in my room for long nights with various assignments for my AP classes. However, I still manage time with extra-curricular activities with the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), the Muslim Student Association (MSA), and Health Science programs. All the while, still showing my support for my school Wrestling team. My passion for health care is reflective on my values and beliefs. In fact, much of what I believe in can be summarized in one quote by Muhammad Ali: "service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth". Throughout the ISM program, I hope to learn everything I can about orthopaedics. I also hope to aid the world of healthcare with my product. Thus, my mission statement is as follows:
My mission is to enhance my knowledge and experience in the field of orthopaedics, that I may one day return the favor to the community. I hope to make decisions, with the assistance of trained professionals in the field, which will one day benefit the patients of our generation. |
